Yuredol belongs to the group of muscle relaxants and is used to treat back and neck pain. The active ingredient of the drug is cyclobenzaprine. It helps to relax the muscles and reduce muscle tone. Under the action of the medication, the hyperactivity of the muscles decreases. At the same time, the drug has no effect on their structure.

Improvement of the condition is indicated by a decrease in pain, improved mobility, and decreased sensitivity. The drug is also used for treatment after injuries, soft tissue damage.
The medication has antispasmodic and antinociceptive properties, so its use is justified to treat not only acute conditions, but also chronic muscle pain, pain syndromes associated with the musculoskeletal system.
The drug has greater efficacy even than non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It improves the state of every 3 to 9 patients, while nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs improve the state of only 1 in 11 patients. Yuredol is safer when compared to tricyclic pschoterapics and benzodiazepine-type antispasmodics.
Instructions for use, dosage, contraindications
Yuredol 10 mg is taken only after consultation with a doctor. You cannot take the medicine on your own without prior consultation and examination. The standard treatment regimen is to take 1 tablet once a day at the same time. The medicine can be taken before meals or with meals. The action of the medicine develops within 1.5 hours. The maximum effect is reached after 8 hours. Treatment cannot last longer than 2-3 weeks. If during this time the condition has not improved, you need to review the treatment regimen.
The advantage of the medication compared to other treatments is the convenient dosage form, which makes treatment easier for the patient. One tablet daily is convenient to take. If you prescribe the drug only at the beginning of the active manifestation of the disease, you can quickly remove muscle spasm syndromes and avoid a vicious circle: pain, spasm, pain. The dosage can be increased for a more pronounced pain syndrome if the usual amount does not help. To increase the effectiveness, the doctor may prescribe 2 pills. Because of the lack of clinical studies, the use of the drug is not recommended for these groups of patients:

The drug should not be used simultaneously with monoamine inhibitors. After their withdrawal, a pause of at least 14 days is necessary. Simultaneous use of cyclobenzaprine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors may lead to serious consequences. Hyperpyretic crisis may end in convulsions and death.
Treatment with the medication is contraindicated for patients who have been diagnosed with problems with the cardiovascular system. It cannot be taken if there is a rhythm disorder, blockages, and congestive heart failure. The drug is also contraindicated in hyperthyroidism.
Adverse reactions
Clinical studies have identified among the most common side effects:
- dry mouth;
- nausea;
- constipation;
- drowsiness.
The cardiovascular system may respond to taking Yuredol capsulas with tachycardia, increased heart rate, and a critical decrease in BP. The worst case scenario is myocardial infarction, stroke.
Less commonly, there may be disorders of the liver and bile outflow. Stomach pain, gastritis, cramps, metotheorism are possible. The nervous system may respond with inadequate secretion of antidiuretic hormone. Negative reactions may occur in the blood and lymphatic systems.
Rarely, the drug affects weight, causing it to decrease or increase. Negative reactions may occur on the part of the nervous system and appear as seizures, tremor, disturbance of normal sleep and mood changes. The skin and subcutaneous tissues may react to the drug by increased sweating. Infrequent reactions include tinnitus, abnormal kidney and urinary tract function.
